The Crystal River between Redstone and Carbondale Colorado is one of the most scenic little rivers in the West. During the late summer and fall when the run off has cleared the water, it is very clear, and not to mention some great fishing to be had.
Of course in the winter time when it is covered with snow and ice, it is better suited to photographing which is what I used to paint this watercolor.
This 13 x 16 watercolor was painted with professional grade Winsor Newton paints on Arches paper and is framed in a hand gilded 12kt gold frame that I did with a little mat and gilded fillet and glazed with Museum glass.
