This 14 x10 watercolor is the first painting I did from the recent Zion Plein Air Invitational of which I was proud to be one of 24 artists selected nationwide to paint in the park as part of the 100 year national park celebration. Zion National Park is an amazing place for landscape painters. It is almost overwhelming with 360 degree views from every vantage point. The hardest part of painting in the park was picking what to paint.
I was driving toward the east side of Zion looking for a painting to do when I looked in my rearview mirror and as happens so often, I saw something that caused me to pull over and look back. There it was.
