Wilson Road in Teton National Park is unfortunately getting to be rather well known. It is a narrow sometimes paved road connecting Teton Village with Moose Junction in Teton National Park. It has become heavily traveled threatening the ecosystem of the area. In other words we are loving it to death. I used to live on the Teton Village end of the road and knew it back in the 70’s. It remains a favorite place of mine to paint in Teton National Park. While there in the fall of 2015 the road was closed for a period of time because of high grizzly bear activity. It was the height of the berry season and the park personnel closed the road to give the bears some privacy. I waited several days for it to temporarily reopen and managed to quickly do this painting. There was much sign of bear activity and we were warned to be vigilant.
