Continuing with my love affair of the red rock country in Utah and Western Colorado is Capitol Reef National Park where this Canyon Wonder is located. If you drive to the very end of the paved scenic drive in Capitol Reef, you can hike on down the ensuing canyon. On one wall, high up, is the carving of names of early settlers. Erosion of the canyon floor over the years from flash flooding has left the carvings quite high. I’m sure they must’ve been in easy reach of the sandy floor at one time.
