This is a plein air watercolor I did on the morning of the 4th of July. I was camped up on the Uncompahgre Plateau in Western Colorado. The morning dawned with a heavy fog that slowly lifted as the sun warmed the air. It was amazing how long it took for these watercolor washes to dry in the high humidity which is contrary to our usual low humidity environment.
This 7×10 plein air watercolor was painted with professional grade Winsor and Newton paints and is double matted with acid free matting and backing.
